This morning, enjoy a city tour of Ho Chi Minh City including visits to the Reunification Hall, formerly the Presidential Palace, where Communist tanks entered on April 30, 1975, marking the fall of Saigon. Explore other iconic sites such as the Old Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Jade Emperor Pagoda, Chinatown, and Binh Tay Market, the city’s bustling central market. Later, visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, an extensive underground network stretching over 210 miles, built by guerrilla fighters starting in 1940 and expanded during the Vietnam War. Return to your hotel where the evening is free for leisure.
Today, travel to My Tho, the capital of Tien Giang Province, located on the Mekong River about 75 kilometers southeast of Ho Chi Minh City. Surrounded by orchards and rice fields that supply grain to the country, My Tho offers a glimpse into rural life. Visit one or two islands known for traditional handicrafts, coconut candy, and bee farms. During your boat trip on the Mekong River, stop to explore the Vinh Trang Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in the delta. Return to Ho Chi Minh City, check into your hotel, and stay overnight.
